Antique Columbia Grafonola

The Columbia grafonola is also called a graphophone. It was the name and trademark of an improved version of the phonograph. It was invented at the Volta laboratory and established by Alexander Graham Bell. It took five years of research to develop and distinguish this machine from Thomas Edison's phonograph. This machine is far easier to handle then previous machines. In 1885 the Volta Laboratory Associates filed patent applications and sought out investors for the machine.
